Billy Dering grew up on the Jersey Shore, a place that became woven into the fabric of his soul. After high school, life led him first to Clemson, South Carolina for college, then to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where his parents had relocated. In the early 1990s, Dering returned home to Ocean County, New Jersey, where he has lived ever since. A CPA and school business administrator by profession, he discovered fiction writing as a creative outlet and never looked back. He is the author of the award-winning Utopia Project trilogy and is currently developing several new novels. When he’s not writing, Dering enjoys reading, music, sports, and the calming ambiance of the sea. He believes inspiration for storytelling can emerge anywhere, at any time—often in the most unexpected places.
